The Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) has posted up a rating for an Xbox Series version of Resident Evil 6, and while a PS5 version isn’t mentioned, there’s a very good chance we’ll also see it turn up for Sony’s current-generation console.
Resident Evil 6 was originally released for the PS3, PC, and Xbox 360 back in October 2012, and allows players to experience three unique campaigns: Leon S. Kennedy and Helena, Chris Redfield and Piers, and Jake Muller and Sherry Birkin. The game adheres to the more action-oriented direction that Capcom had been taking with the series up to that point, with blockbuster movie-style set pieces and quick-time events replacing the traditional slower-paced puzzle solving and exploration of earlier Resident Evil games.

Capcom ported Resident Evil 6 to the PS4 and Xbox One as part of the series’ 20th anniversary celebrations back in 2016 alongside RE 4 & 5, although at this point it’s not known if those games will also come to current-generation machines.
Resident Evil celebrates its 30th anniversary in March 2026, and Capcom is currently working on the next mainline instalment in the series alongside reported remakes of Resident Evil Zero and Resident Evil CODE: Veronica.
