As part of its Resident Evil 25th anniversary celebrations, Capcom has announced that fans can now sign up for a closed beta test for an as-yet unconfirmed title in the series for PS4 and PS5. The game could very well be the previously-leaked Resident Evil Outrage, but that’s just speculation on our part.
Capcom’s blurb confirms that we’ll hear more about this new Resident Evil project during the series’ 25th anniversary showcase on January 21. This is also where the developer will reveal more footage on the upcoming Resident Evil Village.

The closed beta test will take place January 28 – 30 and Capcom has described it as being for a ‘Resident Evil title that no one has played before!’ So yes, it’s definitely something new. The beta test is also playable on Xbox One and presumably Xbox Series X/S, too.
Resident Evil Village is currently in the works for PS5, PC and Xbox Series X/S and is reportedly being lined up for an April 2021 launch.
