Developer Psyonix has today announced that its perennial ball-battling hit Rocket League has surpassed a total of five million downloads.
Released on July 7 as part of the Instant Game Collection on PlayStation Plus, the multiplayer-centric title has become quite phenomenon amongst the PlayStation faithful for its ‘easy to play, tough to master’ gameplay and addictive head-to-head battling.
Speaking on the game’s official Twitter in light of the milestone, developer Psyonix thanked the community for its continued support by saying that it was ”truly humbling”.
AMAZING! More than 5 MILLION downloads since we launched on July 7! Your continued support for our game is truly humbling. Thank you.

It’s worth bearing in mind that these figures are a combination of both the PS4 version of the game and that of the PC. It’s still a mighty achievement, mind.
Psyonix is currently prepping a major patch for the game as well as both paid and free DLC which includes a throwback map from the game’s predecessor, Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars.
