According to the latest whispers on the Internet, Buzz Monkey and Crystal Dynamics are currently both hard at work on developing the next instalment in the venerable Tomb Raider franchise.
The first batch of evidence comes in the form of a resume listing for Tomb Raider: Underworld’s senior environmentalist, Caleb Strauss, which gives mention of an “Unnanounced Project” involving “pre-production development, 3D world environment modeling, documentation, contribution to art pipeline and workflow, and mentoring.”
Elsewhere, Buzz Monkey has listed a “Top Secret Game” on its official website, boldly labelling it as the “next smash success.” Those unaware, the company previously worked on the PlayStation 2 and Wii versions of Underworld, along with PSP and PS2 versions of Anniversary and Legend.
Details on Lara Croft’s next archaeologist endeavour are sketchy at best, though Eidos boss Ian Livingstone recently boasted it “will surprise a lot of people and reinvigorate the franchise.” Make of that what you will. Stay tuned for more info as it breaks.
