Sledgehammer Games is reportedly working on this year’s Call of Duty game, which according to hints from leaker VictorZ (via Reddit), will take place in World War II. This would make sense, seeing as how Sledgehammer’s last game was Call of Duty: WWII.
Activision has already confirmed that Call of Duty 2021 is in the pipeline, obviously, but we don’t yet know who will be working on the project. VictorZ’s tweets imply that the game is going to again take place in WWII, with speculation suggesting it will be set in the Pacific Theatre instead of the European setting of Call of Duty: WWII.

This should all be taken with a pinch of salt for the time being, but we wouldn’t rule out the possibility of another WWII-set Call of Duty game just yet. Hopefully we’ll hear more about Call of Duty 2021 within the next few months.
The latest game in the series, Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War, launched for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One in November 2020.
