Rumor: Guitar Hero coming to PS4 this year

The Guitar Hero franchise is set to make a comeback for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this year, according to Kotaku.

Due to be announced at E3 this year, the new music simulation title is said to take on a more realistic approach in comparison to its predecessors. As such, it is speculated this means the game will be released for current-generation platforms only.

However, the developers behind the previous games, RedOctane and NeverSoft, have since gone under, meaning the game will likely be produced by one of Activision’s West Coast studios.

Interestingly, this info comes hot on the heels of Rock Band developer, Harmonix, sending out a survey to fans and thus hinting that Guitar Hero’s leading competitor could be on the way back, too.

Of course, nothing official has been confirmed as of yet, so take the above info with a pinch of salt until we hear more.
