According to Last Stand Media’s Colin Moriarty, Guerrilla Games is not the studio behind the rumoured Horizon Zero Dawn remaster for PS5.
While the game hasn’t been officially announced by Sony yet, it was assumed Guerrilla Games, who was behind the original 2017 game on PS4, would be handling the remaster. However, Moriarty claims that another team is working on the game instead.
We’re also assuming that [Guerrilla] is making the Horizon remake thing there, although, if that’s real, what I’ve heard is that it’s at another team.
Horizon Zero Dawn was released for PS4 in February 2017 in the US and March 2017 in the UK, kick starting a brand new franchise for Guerrilla Games following its work on the Killzone series. The sequel, Horizon Forbidden West, arrived in February 2022 for PS4 & PS5.
Looking ahead, the PSVR 2 will receive its own entry in the franchise with spin-off title Horizon Call of the Mountain. In addition, Guerrilla Games is also working on a new co-op Horizon game.
