Website CVG has added yet more fuel the possibility of a PlayStation 3 price cut, with an unnamed UK high street retailer claiming that Sony is preparing to slash the price of both PS3 and PSP in the near future.
Details are sketchy, with the source only letting slip that the cut will happen “soon,” noting that a price reduction has “been on the cards for a while.”
Nonetheless, speculation on a price cut has intensified over the past couple of months, with Sony facing increasing pressure from publisher’s to reduce the cost of its flagship gaming console, with many anticipating a U.S. price drop next week of $100 USD. As far as PAL territories go, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has declined to comment on “speculation.”
