Ubisoft will released Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, its remake of 2013’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, on July 9, 2026, according to a report on Insider Gaming.
The pirate-themed Assassin’s Creed game was reportedly set for a reveal on April 16, but Ubisoft changed those plans and it will now be unveiled next week. However, it has been claimed by Insider Gaming that some media and content creators saw about 30 minutes of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced in action yesterday.
In addition, the report states that the Black Flag Remake has been significantly overhauled with “new content and updates,” but stressed it won’t be a full-on RPG. “This remains a solo adventure and character-driven experience. It is not an RPG,” the presentation for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced reportedly stated.
A previous leak revealed that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced would feature “a cast of new characters and stories,” so the above mention of “new content” matches.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag was originally release in late 2013 for PS4, PS3, PC, Xbox One and Xbox 360. The game takes place during the Golden Age of Piracy during the 17th century, and follows Edward Kenway, the grandfather of Assassin’s Creed III protagonist Connor, as he becomes embroiled in the war against the Templar Order while sailing the Caribbean with his own crew on board the Jackdaw. The ship is a major focus of the game, with players able to upgrade the vessel with more powerful weapons and armour while uncovering hidden treasures and explorable islands throughout their journey.
