Trusted tipster Billbil-kun has weighted in on the highly anticipated Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater — aka Metal Gear Solid Remake — claiming that the title is not going to come out this year, but instead launch in 2025. Previously, it was believed the game would be out in 2024 as it was mentioned by Sony as one of many titles coming to PS5 this year.
According to the report, the 2025 window comes by way of a “global distribution giant” and added that a “new announcement will take place within the next 10 days,” with preorders dropping after said announcement. Furthermore, those of you looking to splash the cash will be able pick up a $199.99 Collector’s Edition.

Given Billbil-kun’s claims of hearing more about Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater in the next 10 days or so, this puts it nicely in line with Summer Game Fest and the Xbox Games Showcase. So, hopefully he’s on the money and we’ll see the game at either of those events.
Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater was announced for the PS5 nearly a year ago, and is a full ground-up remake of the 2004 stealth juggernaut Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater for PS2. While Konami is revamping pretty much everything from the original version, the voice cast performances are not being re-recorded.
If you’ve not played the original MGS3, then you can check it out in the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol.1 alongside MGS and MGS2: Sons of Liberty.
