Resident Evil leaker Dusk Golem has followed up his previous claims that Capcom has five entries in the horror franchise in development, claiming that the developer greenlit multiple Resident Evil games last year, including ‘some’ remakes.
Here’s what the leaker had say on Discord:
Capcom greenly several Resident Evil titles in the last year or so, and does include some remakes.
We already know that Capcom intends on developing more Resident Evil remakes, so there’s no surprise that they have reportedly greenlit more of them. Resident Evil 9 has been long rumoured to be in the works, and last year Golem claimed that the game would be announced this year with a release planned for 2025.
He later claimed that Resident Evil 9 has been in development since 2018 and boasts the largest budget of the franchise to date, and again stated that it would be released in 2025.
The Resident Evil remakes have been hugely popular for Capcom, with last year’s Resident Evil 4 Remake selling 6.48 million units as of December 2023.
