Capcom is reportedly working on a new Dead Rising game with original protagonist Frank West set to return, according to MP1st.
The project isn’t a remake or remaster but a brand new Dead Rising that will take the series to Hollywood, where the bulk of the action is set within a large enclosed movie studio lot. Here, Frank and other survivors are forced by the game’s antagonist to take part in various trials with the goal of filming the villain’s “perfect movie.”

Capcom hasn’t officially announced any new Dead Rising game yet, but last year did release a ‘Deluxe Remaster’ of the original zombie-slaying action title for modern platforms. Ahead of that game’s release, the development team told IGN that Capcom is keen on bringing back many of its IPs, although wouldn’t let slip if it was planning on reviving the Dead Rising franchise with new entries.
Back in February 2024, Capcom distributed a survey asking fans if they would like to see a number of its classic IPs revived, including Breath of Fire, Dead Rising, Dino Crisis, Lost Planet and more.
