Rumour – PlayStation Studios Games Won’t Feature In September’s State Of Play

Sony hasn’t yet set a date for its long-rumoured September State of Play broadcast, but according to one rather shaky rumour, the format holder isn’t planning on showcasing any first-party content at the event.

That’s according to an X account called BrianTheInsider, which has been leaking PS5 Pro details for the past couple of weeks. He correctly predicted on August 31 that the console would be announced today, and sure enough, in less than 30 minutes we’re getting a special showcase where the PS5 Pro is almost certainly getting announced.

The tipster has now claimed that the next State of Play will take place on September 19, and will be geared towards indie and third-party games that will harness the power of PS5 Pro. However, they wrote, “Don’t expect any news on PlayStation Studio titles just yet!”

It’s worth noting that the account has been temporarily restricted by X for reasons unknown, so you had better take this info with a huge cup of salt as we would suggest with any rumour.

If this is indeed true however, then it’s a big disappointment that Sony continues to keep its first-party cards close to its chest, as beyond Marvel’s Wolverine (which was announced three years ago, we might add) we have no idea what’s in store.
