Starfield on PS5 has been rumoured for quite some time now, but those hoping for a reveal at Thursday’s State of Play may have to wait a bit longer — according to leaker Shinobi602, Stafield PS5 won’t be unveiled until next month.
Speaking on ResetEra in response to whether Starfield will show its face at State of Play or not, he commented, “Since this keeps coming up, that’s all next month.”
It’s not just the PS5 version of Starfield that will be announced, as the current version of the game is also set to receive the much-publicised 2.0 overhaul, which will implement a range of improvements for various gameplay mechanics. This is believed to form the base of the PS5 version at launch.
Starfield chatter has been ramping up a lot as of late, and only last week it was claimed by Polish insider Graczdari that the sci-RPG is set to launch for PS5 on April 7, 2026. Furthermore, the game will be available to purchase in Standard and Premium Editions. So, from the look of things we won’t have to wait long either way, providing the release date is accurate.
A PS5 version of Bethesda Game Studios’ latest IP was originally reported on back in February 2024, where it was named as one of the first-party Xbox titles set to arrive on Sony’s console. In January last year, a report on Vandal stated that Starfield alongside Fable and Killer Instinct were coming to the PS5, although later in 2025 NateTheHate said the game probably wouldn’t make it out that year despite still being on the cards.
