Remedy’s Sam Lake has provided a brief update on Alan Wake 2, revealing shooting is ongoing with the cast and that the story is going to be a bit of a ‘monster.’ Colour us more than a little excited.
Not much about Alan Wake 2 has been revealed so far, so we’ll take what we can get at this point. Regarding the story however, we do know that it will “add to the backstory” of the original 2010 horror title, although players won’t need to have any knowledge of this title to enjoy the sequel.

Alan Wake 2 is currently in development for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, with Remedy targeting a 2023 release for the survival horror title. Lake previously revealed that the sequel will employ a third-person perspective, following in the footsteps of its predecessor.
The original Alan Wake launched for Xbox 360 in 2010 and arrived on PC two years later. The game was finally remastered for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One last year. You can read our review of Alan Wake Remastered here.
