SEGA Reportedly Plans To Annualise Like A Dragon, Persona & Sonic With New Games, Remakes, DLC & More

SEGA is looking to annualise major franchises including Like A Dragon, Personal and Sonic the Hedgehog by releasing new games, remakes/remasters, DLC and other content, according to well-known leaker MbKKssTBhz5.

The leaker noted that with Persona, it does not mean that a new numbered series entry will launch ever year, but rather the plans include spin-off games too. He also stressed that the quality of the franchise is not likely to be impacted by this decision, as multiple titles are developed concurrently across the period of a few years.

The Like A Dragon series has picked up the pace in recent years, with 2023 seeing the release of Like A Dragon: The Man Who Erased His Name and Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth launching earlier this year.

Sonic remains as crucial to the publisher as always, with 2024 kicking off Fearless: Year of Shadow; a celebration of all things Shadow of the Hedgehog. This will include the release of Sonic X Shadow Generations, a remaster of Sonic Generations featuring brand new Shadow-centric stages.
