Yesterday, when IGN teased SEGA would be announcing a brand new title today, with nothing more than a short audio clip of a high pitch sound, players figured it could be a new IP, or an Ecco The Dolphin remaster/remake.
It was the former in this case, as a new IP called Hyenas was revealed today during IGN’s Summer Of Gaming livestream. It’s a new multiplayer first-person shooter title coming to PS5 and PS4 that puts three teams of five in a smallish transport freighter in space.
This is also the shooter that was rumoured to be coming from the team behind critically acclaimed horror title Alien Isolation.
Each team will fight against security and each other to steal as much as they can from the transport, and get out before time runs out. Successfully escaping with the most loot, is how you win.

Since you’ll be in space, part of what separates this title from other shooters is that you’ll experience fighting in zero gravity. The individual characters you’ll play as and their unique abilities also serve to differentiate Hyenas from other titles.
There’s currently no release date for Hyenas yet, though it is already possible to sign up on the game’s official website for a chance to be part of an upcoming alpha playtest.
