Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One developer Frogwares has announced a delay for the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the World’s Greatest Detective’s latest adventure.
While no release date has been set for these version of the game, a statement from Frogwares confirms that they will launch “not that much later” than the PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S editions of Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One, which are still on track for a Fall 2021 launch.
Here’s the full statement:
To all our fans — we have an important announcement to make.
We as a studio, we decided that we need a bit more time to work on the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Sherlock Holmes Chapter One. Therefore, the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X+S versions will launch this fall, but the PS4 and XB1 are planned for a later date (but not that much later).
The reason is that we need more time and a little breaching room for our time to wrap these versions up properly. We are talking a few weeks at most, but we will give you exact dates soon. However, rest assured that these versions are not cancelled. They are being worked on as we speak.
Finally, a little heads up. This Thursday, on the 16th of September, we have something new for you and we will answer one of your most asked questions. Keep an eye out for our socials.
