Christopher Dring of GI.biz has revealed that Silent Hill 2 Remake ranked number six in Europe in terms of game sales, although noted that its launch performance was below both Resident Evil 4 Remake and Dead Space Remake.
Developed by Bloober Team, the Silent Hill 2 Remake saw launch sales clock in at 57% lower than Resident Evil 4 Remake and 31% below Dead Space Remake, both of which were released in 2023. This probably isn’t too surprising however, as 1) the game was only released on PS5 in terms of home consoles and 2) Silent Hill has traditionally been less commercially successful than Resident Evil (although in the case of Dead Space, the game reportedly didn’t sell all that great and EA is apparently not interested in continuing with the series again).

Silent Hill 2 Remake is one of many games that supports PS5 Pro, although users have been experiencing issues with its performance on the console; Bloober Team has since stated that it is working on a fix for the problem.
Based on the classic 2001 Team Silent-developed horror title, Silent Hill 2 Remake follows James Sunderland, who receives a letter from his deceased wife, Mary, calling him to the foggy town to reunite with her in their ‘special place.’ You can read our full verdict of the game here.
