Konami has announced that it will be bringing Silent Hill: Homecoming to Europe on February 27, 2009.
The psychological horror romp has been contributing to shortage of clean underwear across North America since September, though for reasons unknown the PAL version was pushed back to early 2009 despite originally being on the cards for a pre-Christmas release.
It’ll be up against some tough competition, though – Capcom’s Resident Evil 5 will be hitting shops just a few weeks later on March 13.
Homecoming pits you in the shoes of former soldier Alex Shepherd, who after being discharged from duty hitches a ride back to his hometown of Shepherd’s Glen, only to be greeted by foggy, deserted streets and lumbering, grotesque beasts.
Upon discovering that is younger brother Joshua has gone missing, Shepherd must put his military mind to good measure and battle against hordes of creatures while combing the streets of Shepherd’s Glen (and later, Silent Hill), uncovering the mystery that has befallen the town.
We picked up a copy of the North American a few months back and put it under the microscope, coming away suitably impressed despite a couple of noticeable flaws.
