Sledgehammer Games, the studio behind the likes of Call of Duty: WWII and this year’s Call of Duty: Vanguard, has confirmed it is expanding its operations by establishing a new studio in Guildford, UK.
Sledgehammer’s newly-opened UK studio will lend support to the development of Call of Duty: Vanguard content drops and future projects by assisting the company’s branches in the US, Australia, and Canada.
Andy Wilson, an executive at Sledgehammer Games, commented:
I’m just really excited to bring our studio brand to the UK, along with the incredible franchise we get to work on. It’s another opportunity to do our own small part to grow the industry, in a place where there’s a huge number of talented developers.
As we have done in our other locations, we will be looking to build partnerships with schools and universities to help nurture and grow the next generation of talent.
Call of Duty: Vanguard is pencilled in for a November 5, 2021 release on PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.
