New Sonic Game News PS4 PS5 SEGA Sonic Rangers Sonic Team

Sonic Rangers Is Reportedly The Name Of Sonic Team’s New Game

SEGA’s freshly-announced 3D Sonic the Hedgehog game is apparently going to be called Sonic Rangers, according to a slip-up in a press release sent out by the company.

The new Sonic Team-developed title was announced during the Sonic the Hedgehog 30th anniversary stream yesterday evening, but little else was revealed, not even its official name. However, an early press release obtained by Eurogamer mentions ‘Sonic Rangers’ in the slew of announcement recaps.

Announcing new console experiences, Sonic Colors: Ultimate and Sonic Rangers, further details on Netflix’s Sonic Prime, mobile news, musical events and much more!

Sonic Rangers has now been omitted in recent editions of the press release, and the version originally shared was an older version sent out by mistake.

The new Sonic the Hedgehog game is currently in development for PS5, PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One, and will launch some time in 2022. We’re also getting a retro compilation titled Sonic Origins next year, while September 2021 will see the launch of a remastered Sonic Colors.

Whether or not the new game turns out to be called Sonic Rangers in the end remains to be seen, but we’ll keep an eye on any developments.
