New Sony Patent Hints At PS5 Cooling System Design Again

The design of the PS5 cooling system has been hinted at yet again in another patent filed by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The design appears quite similar to the previous patent filed by the format hold, and offers an insight into what Sony is doing in order to keep its new hardware from overheating.

PS5 Cooling System Hinted At In New Patent?

The patent itself was filed back in 2019 and was only published this week. You can take a look at the designs here.

Keep in mind that patents are filed by companies frequently, and the designs contained within don’t always end up coming to fruition. However, they do offer a good insight into what a company (in this case Sony) is working on at the time.

The PS5 is slated for release in holiday 2020, and you can take an extensive look at the console’s specs here. The console will ship with a new controller, the DualSense, which will include a variety of new features over its predecessor.
