Sony Interactive Entertainment has forecast PS5 sales of 7.6 million by the end of March 2021.

According to a Bloomberg report, the format holder has raised its profit forecast by 13% ahead of the PS5’s launch, surpassing analyst expectations in the process. As detailed by Hiroki Totoki, Sony’s chief financial officer, during the company’s quarterly earnings call, this would be “more than the PS4 managed during its first fiscal year.”
Sony announced earlier today that the PS4 had reached a new milestone in shipments, with Playstation Plus subscriptions also continuing to rise despite the impending PS5 launch. In addition, the console maker revealed that pre-sales for its next-generation console are already tracking well ahead of its predecessor.
The PS5 is scheduled to ship in North America and Japan on November 12 and in the UK and the rest of the world on November 19.
