In an interview with Kotaku, Media Molecule‘s Studio Director, Siobhan Reddy has stated that Sony is set to continue investing in Dreams as a platform.

“Sony is really behind what we’re doing and are investing in the studio to grow,” Reddy said, highlighting the expansion of live updates and content for the game, ensuring the experience is consistently getting updated. Multiple new hires and editorial staff have also been brought on to ensure players are able to find the best Dreams and work is being done to improve curation.

Reddy then goes on to say that the goal of allowing creations to be played and experienced outside of the game and Sony’s ecosystem is still being worked on. “It’s complicated, and we have to do it in the right way, and we have to do it in a way that works with Sony because we’re a big organization. So, I think for ages we’ve been saying to the community, ‘We’re working on it,’ and we’re still at that point.”

Overall, these are all exciting notes and are encouraging as it means that Sony isn’t going to get up and abandon the game or shut down Media Molecule.
