Spider-Man PS4 will not be at PSX 2016

Insomniac Games has some bad news for those of you hoping to catch a glimpse at the upcoming Spider-Man title for PlayStation 4 at Sony’s PlayStation Experience 2016 event this weekend.

Spider-Man PS4 gameplay won’t be at PSX 2016

Writing on Twitter, the Ratchet & Clank developer confirmed the studio has no plans to showcase the hotly anticipated superhero title at PSX 2016 or The Game Awards, though promised more info will drop in 2017.

Hey, Web-Heads! We’re not showing new #SpiderManPS4 content at PSX/The Game Awards, but we’re hard at work on cool stuff to share in 2017!

Spider-Man was announced exclusively for PS4 at E3 2016, and takes the form of an open-world action-adventure set in New York City. Players control a more experienced version of the iconic Web-slinger in an all-new story that isn’t tied directly to the films or comic books. Both Spider-Man and his alter ego, Peter Parker, will be explored in the events of the game.

Players will be able to employ Spider-Man’s various powers within the game, such as web-slinging and wall crawling, while parkour will be used extensively to navigate the sprawling New York setting. Comat is also a major part of the action, with environmental scuffles also set to feature as Spidey duffs up the resident bad guys in the Big Apple.

Sony has yet to announce a Spider-Man PS4 release date.
