Square Enix Has No Plans For A Chrono Cross Sequel Or New Game In The Series

Speaking during an interview with Famitsu magazine, Square Enix’s Masato Kato, Yasunori Mitsuda, and Nobuteru Yuki revealed that the company has no plans to release a sequel to Chrono Cross or a new game in the series.

There are no plans for (a sequel or new title) now, but no one knows what the future holds.

Square Enix’s comments come just as Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition launches for PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One, which is a full remaster of the classic PSOne RPG. You can read our full review of the game here.

The original Chrono Cross was released in Japan in 1999 and arrived in the US and Europe in 2000, and is considered one of the best RPGs of all time. The game features a diverse cast of more than 40 playable party members, and as strategically-driven turn-based combat system that encourages players to master elements and stamina.
