The director on Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade has said that the Streamlined Progression feature coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X/S versions of the RPG may yet make the jump to PS5 and PC.
Speaking during an interview posted on the official Square Enix website, Naoki Hamaguchi explained that the team is “proactively considering adding” Streamlined Progression to the existing versions of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, although noted there is a “definitive priority order in the development work.”

We are proactively considering adding these Streamlined Progression Functions to the PS5 and PC versions as well and we do want to bring all the evolutions and enhancements that the game has seen to all the players who have played the game already at some point. Having said that, there’s a definite priority order in the development work, so there are some difficulties with addressing this on all platforms right away.
We’re currently working on bringing the lighting optimisations from the PC version of FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH to the PS5 version at the moment and have a good idea of when this can be implemented by. Fans who played on PS5 can look forward to these further improvements in the future.
For those out of the loop, the Streamlined Progression feature gives players a number of additional options such as selecting unlimited HP and MP, maximum damage, and more.
Recently, Hamaguchi-san reveal during an interview with Automaton that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was performing well on PS5 and PC and that the upcoming third and final entry in the remake project is ‘shaping up nicely.’ No release date has been set for Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 yet, but it is believed to be targeting a 2027 launch.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is an enhanced port of the original 2020 Final Fantasy VII Remake released on PS4, offering improvements to visuals and performance, as well as bringing a new story chapter where players control Yuffi. This version of the game is launching for Nintendo and Xbox formats on January 22, 2026.
