Speaking during a recent financial briefing, Square Enix President Takashi Kiryu, revealed that the initial sales of the RPG were “in line” with the publisher’s expectations, and that it will be looking to drive sales further with a number of initiatives.
This achievement was in line with our expectations. To expand sales, we have planned a variety of PR activities and other initiatives to encourage more of the growing PlayStation 5 install base to play the title.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Square Enix had suffered nearly a two billion dollar loss in market value since the launch of Final Fantasy XVI. Elsewhere, the company revealed that it is working on DLC for the game, as well as a PC version of the critically acclaimed RPG.
Final Fantasy XVI was released in June 2023 exclusively for the PS5, and you can read our full review here.
