Star Wars Battlefront’s Bespin DLC force-grabs a release date

Electronic Arts has staple-gunned a June 21 release date to Star Wars Battlefront’s second batch of downloadable content for Season Pass holders.

The DLC, titled Bespin after the iconic Cloud City from the Star Wars universe, will be made available to everyone else two weeks later.

Bespin introduces four new multiplayer maps for players to battle across, including one set in the carbon-freezing chambers located in the depths of the Cloud City. In addition, two new characters will be available in the form of Landro Calrissian and Dengar.

If that wasn’t enough, gamers can also wield two new weapons in the shape of the X-8 Night Sniper and EE-4 blasters.

No price point for the DLC has been announced, although you can probably expect to pay around £11.99.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 confirmed for PS4

Beyond EA’s support for Star Wars Battlefront, the publishing giant has also confirmed that a sequel is currently in development at DICE.

While details are thin on the ground at present, EA confirmed that the science-fiction shooter will be released in 2017 and will feature content from the latest chapter(s) in the Star Wars cinematic universe.

While the original Star Wars Battlefront divided critics, news of a sequel shouldn’t come as a surprise; Battlefront has shipped 13 million copies to date.
