The Steam listing for Star Wars Galactic Racer has revealed that the game will launch on October 6, 2026, although the listing has since been removed. Officially, all we know is that the game will arrive this year.
Star Wars Galactic Racer was originally announced during The Game Awards 2025 in December, and takes place in the New Republic Era following the events of Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. The main campaign is set within the lawless Outer Rim and is built on the framework of the Galactic League, founded by Darius Pax, who is under threat from the villainous Kestsar Bool. As such, Pax looks to loner Shade for help, who has a personal grudge against the Bool family, to help overthrow Kestar and regain control of the competition.
Multiple planets from the Star Wars universe are featured in the game, including Hoth, Endor, Tatoonie, and Jake, with selectable vehicles including podracers, land speeders, speeder bikes, and the newly-introduced skim speeder. Star Wars Galactic Racer also includes a multiplayer component that supports up to 12 players alongside a ranking mode.
Star Wars Galactic Racer is due out for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S in 2026.
