Starbreeze Confirms Dungeons & Dragons Title Project Baxter ‘Continues At Full Speed’

Starbreeze interim CEO Mats Juhl revealed during a quarterly report this week that Project Baxter, the company’s upcoming Dungeons & Dragon title, is currently in full production and is “growing as planned” and “continues at full speed.”

Juhl also commented that Starbreeze is considering forming new partnerships for the project, stating that while the company will publish Project Paxter “our ambition is to enter into partnerships where this is beneficial for the game and Starbreeze.”

The executive added that the partnerships could bolster “marketing, physical distribution or other purposes that increase both the quality and potential of the project, whilst balancing the risk for Starbreeze.”

Project Baxter will enter a phase in the fall where we will be more proactive in searching for and holding discussions with suitable partners.

Finally, Juhl reaffirmed that Project Baxter is targeting a 2026 release window, a date that Starbreeze originally planned back in December 2023 when it announced the game.

Speaking at the time, then-Star breeze CEO Tobias Sjogren revealed that the game is being developed using Unreal Engine 5 and will be released on all ‘major platforms,’ so presumably a PS5 release is on the cards. Project Baxter will feature Starbreeze’s trademark co-op multiplayer and features Cross-Play support.
