Street Fighter 6 Rumoured For State Of Play Reveal On June 2

Street Fighter 6 release

Capcom may be preparing for a formal Street Fighter 6 reveal at next week’s State of Play event on June 2, if information heard by Gamebeat’s Jeff Grubb manages to bear fruit.

Speaking on Twitter following PlayStation’s announcement that a State of Play is due to happen next week, Grubb mentioned that this is likely where we’ll see the sixth entries in the classic fighting franchise as it’s one of the games that ‘’Capcom is definitely supposed to have for these summer reveals.”

Perhaps giving further credence to the rumour, Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida was quick to emphasise on Twitter that this upcoming State of Play would primarily focus on ‘exciting reveals from our third-party’ partners’, so it’s likely games from third-party partners such as Capcom will take centre stage alongside PSVR 2 content, which may include a return for the Killzone series.

Initially revealed via a teaser trailer back in February, reaction to Street Fighter 6’s art style was mostly positive, though eyebrows were raised over its curious logo. Nevertheless, Capcom’s famed fighting series has always drawn a significant crowd and the Osaka-based developer will be looking for success right out of the gate following a tepid release reception for its predecessor due to its lack of content at launch.
