BioWare has released three new pieces of artwork for the hotly anticipated Mass Effect Andromeda on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One.
The shots were released in light of N7 Day last week, which for the uninitiated is BioWare’s yearly celebration of all things Mass Effect. In addition, the studio also released a series of messages on Twitter to accompany N7 Day, which when piece together read as follows:
"On this N7Day, we celebrate the courage to explore, and the pioneers – the brave men & women, who stop at nothing to push the boundaries of humankind. We look to our past and learn what we can, saying goodbye to our comrades in arms, and prepare ourselves for what comes in the future. To explore Andromeda and all its secrets. Beyond the borders of our galaxy lies untold adventure. Explorers Wanted. It’s about building new worlds."
Mass Effect Andromeda is currently slated for a release in holiday 2016. The game will launch an all-new chapter in the popular sci-fi franchise, taking place after the events of the original trilogy but in a whole new galaxy; the eponymous Andromeda sector. This time around, players will be able to control and customise the Mako seen in the original Mass Effect as they explore uncharted territory, although much of the game’s plot and core mechanics are being kept under wraps at present.
BioWare has teased numerous details on Twitter however, confirming Andromeda will be the ‘best and largest’ entry in the franchise to date, with visuals mirroring those of Star Wars Battlefront. A new teaser trailer was released to celebrate N7 Day, featuring a narration by Commander Shepard, the protagonist of the first three Mass Effect titles. Shepard, alongside other key characters from the trilogy, will not be returning for Andromeda.
