Subnautica: Below Zero Writer Has Joined Naughty Dog

Naughty Dog has snapped up a new writer in the shape of Zaire Lanier, who previously worked as a scribe for Subnautica: Below Zero.

Lanier shared the news on Twitter, revealing that working with the Uncharted developer had been a dream of theirs for nearly adecade.

This has been my dream for almost a decade now. Got a PS3 of Craigslist from a dude in a parking lot and bought Dragon Age/The Last of Us from GameStop. Those two games changed the trajectory of my life. I’m ecstatic to announce I’m officially a writer at Naughty Dog.

Obviously Lanier wasn’t able to talk about what project they’re involved with, but we know that Naughty Dog has been busy staffing up for their debut PS5 title. Right now, it’s believed to be a multiplayer game, most likely the Factions mode that was cut from The Last of Us: Part II.

Earlier this year, it was reported that the Sony-owned developer is working on a full-blown remake of The Last of Us, but that has yet to be confirmed.
