Bandai Namco Entertainment America has announced the in-development Tales of Berseria will land on the PlayStation 4 in North America.
The latest in the Tales of franchise will launch in Japan sometime in 2016 and be available on the PlayStation 3. Europe and Australia will see the game release on the PS4 as well.
Tales of Berseria stars a lone female protagonist named Velvet who experienced a traumatic event three years before the start of the game, changing the young woman’s gentle personality to one filled with anger and hate.
According to the latest issue of Famitsu, Berseria also takes place in the same world as the previous game, Tales of Zestiria, but in the very distant past. Despite that, players may experience deja vu as they recognize a few familiar sights from Zestiria while they explore Berseria’s setting: a place named the Wasteland containing a center continent called Glenwood.
Zestiria’s character designers Mutsumi Inomata, Kosuke Fujishima, Daigo Okumura, and Minoru Iwamoto return to produce the character designs for Berseria.
