Classic PlayStation RPG Tales of Eternia is getting the remaster treatment for PS5, PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X/S, Bandai Namco and TOSE have announced.
Tales of Eternia Remastered is due out in Japan on October 15 and worldwide on October 16, and will be available as a standard edition and Digital Deluxe Edition, the latter of which features a digital art book, soundtrack, and DLC.
Tales of Eternia features the Aggressive Linear Motion Battle System (A-LMBS) allowing the use of Arte, continued, combos, and coordination between party members. This affords fast-paced, dynamic battles as players outmanoeuvre foes and dispatch them one by one, while quality-of-life improvements ensure gameplay is more polished than ever. This includes destination markers, the ability to turn off enemy encounters, and the inclusion of a high-speed mode in auto-battle.
Originally known as Tales of Destiny II for its US release, Tales of Eternia was released for the PSOne in November 2000 in Japan and North America in September 2001, although Europe missed out. It was later ported to the PSP in Japan in March 2005, although this version didn’t make it to US shores but did arrive in Europe in 2006.
