Tekken 8 Update 2.00.02 ‘Emergency Patch’ To Include Chip Damage Reduction & Health Boost

Bandai Namco Games has announced details on its emergency patch for Tekken 8, which is being rolled out later this week and comes with a number of significant changes to help quell some of the backlash to Season Two of the fighting game. Chief among these changes include a reduction in chip damage, as well as an overall boost to characters’ health. Future balance changes are also on the way, but won’t arrive until a later date. Tekken 8 was released in January 2024 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. The game received four DLC characters as part of its first season, namely Eddie, Lidia, Heihachi, and guest character Clive Rosfield from Final Fantasy XVI. Season Two launched on April 1, but was met with overwhelming criticism from fans and pro players alike, who accused the game of failing to deliver defensive buffs in favour of overpowered attacks with little counterplay.
