Parasite-Eve sequel The 3rd Birthday will arrive in Western territories at some point during Q1 2011, Square Enix has confirmed.
For those of you who are a little hazy on release quarters, that puts the portable horror romp out in the U.S. and Europe during the period of January – March next year. The game launches in Japan on December 22.
Originally conceived as a mobile phone title, The 3rd Birthday reunites players with series protagonist Aya Brea as she battles against hordes of mutant beings in and around the Manhattan area.
The game utilizes a feature called Overdrive, which allows gamers to switch between team members instantaneously, as well as incorporating an over-the-shoulder perspective similar to that of Resident Evil 5 and Dead Space.
