The Callisto Protocol Is Not Being Sold In Japan As It Failed To Pass CERO Certification

Striking Distance StudiosThe Callisto Protocol will not receive a Japanese release as the game failed to pass CERO certification due to its excessive violent content.

The game’s Japanese Twitter account reveals that the developer is ceasing work on The Callisto Protocol’s Japanese release, explaining that in order for it to pass the CERO certification, the studio would have to make a number of edits to the game’s content.

This, it believes, would not reflect the experience expected of players, although it did note that preorders will be refunded.
