The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion Remastered Could Be Patched On PS5 As Bethesda Acknowledges Feedback

Bethesda has given hope that it will provide additional fixes for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on PS5 and other formats, after the Nintendo Switch 2 edition was recently released with a number of optimisation improvements.

Speaking on X, the studio acknowledged fan feedback for the Oblivion remaster, which has been plagued by various technical issues for a while now.

We’ve heard your feedback asking for an additional patch for Oblivion Remastered,” said Bethesda. “The Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game has a number of optimisations that we are looking into bringing to other platforms and we will share more when we are able.” Beyond that, the studio also told MrMattyPlays recently that some of the optimisations found in the Switch 2 version are something “we hope to bring console/PC.”

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered was released for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S in April 2025, and you can read our full verdict here. The game includes the base version of the fantasy-RPG alongside expansions The Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine, and significantly overhauls the original 2006 version’s visuals, offering ray-tracing and other enhancements, while the game’s AI has also been improved alongside updated animations.
