Bethesda has announced that the Shinji Mikami-directed survival horror title, The Evil Within, has officially gone gold.
This essentially means that development on the hotly anticipated title has now wrapped, and the game is on track for its planned release in mid-October.
"Putting out a game on five platforms (PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, and PS4) across multiple regions is no easy feat," said the publisher, "but we’re excited to announce The Evil Within has officially ‘Gone Gold’!
"Congrats to everyone at Tango Gameworks and everyone else that was involved in the process of making the game — your hard work has helped create a survival horror game that we believe people will be talking about for a long time."
The Evil Within sees players controlling a cop named Sebastian, who after attending the scene of a grisly murder, finds himself battling for his life in a grotesque world filled with blood-thirsty reatures.
The game hits stores on October 14 in Europe and North America.
