Fresh on the heels that Cairn had sold 200,000 copies in its first weekend on sale, The Game Bakers has announced that the mountain climbing simulation has now surpassed 300,000 units.
Writing on BlueSky, the studio had the following to say on this latest milestone:
Hi climbers! The goats have never seen this many visitors pass through! 300,000 new climbers on Kami in a week! Thank you all for over 300,000 ascents.
Released in late January 2026 for PS5 and PC, Cairn has players stepping into the climbing boots of professional mountaineer, Aava, who has taken up the seemingly insurmountable goal of being the first person to reach the summit of Mount Kami. The game takes place from a third-person viewpoint, and has players navigating the mountain by reading the rock face to chart the best route to scale. As such, you’ll position each of Aava’s limbs manually as she climbs, using pitons as checkpoints.
Cairn places an important emphasis on stamina, as you have to monitor this feature alongside your posture; overextending or keeping Aava in an uncomfortable position for too long will see you plummet and restart your progress. Players must rest too to eat and drink, while equipment must be repaired in order to continue your climb effectively.
