HBO’s The Last of Us series isn’t on screen until January, but we’ve already caught word of a first reaction to the post-apocalyptic outing from a TV critic at Vulture.
Roxana Hadadi said in a now-deleted tweet, “It took five minutes for The Last of Us to win me over entirely.” She then followed up with how The Last of US HBO as having “extremely strong Blade II energy. I am cackling with delight and overcome with emotional turbulence.”
Blade II is probably not the sort of comparison you’d expect on The Last of Us, although presumably this means in regard to high-octane action and gore effects. Most of us probably want to know how it compares to the source material, but hey, a positive reaction bodes well at least.
The Last of Us HBO features Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie, and from what we can tell will chronicle the story of the game from the outbreak through some of the key events, including Bill’s Town and meeting Sam and Henry.
