Though The Last of Us Part 2's single-player content will undoubtedly be the highlight of Naughty Dog's PS4 exclusive action-adventure, multiplayer will be making a return.
The Last of Us Part 2 Factions Is Coming
Featuring a similar Factions-based online multiplayer set-up to The Last Of Us, the developer confirmed the news during an interview with Gamespot at E3 2018.
Sadly, we don't know much more than that, but if it's based around Factions then we can likely expect it to not differ wildly from the original game.
In Factions in the first game, players split into teams of two - the Hunters and the Fireflies - to play across a number of games modes. These included Supply Raid, Survivors and Last Man Standing.
Sony revealed some new gameplay from The Last of Us 2 at E3 2018 this week, and boy did it look epic! There's still no release date as yet, but we'd expect it to land in 2019.
