Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part 2 was a massive undertaking for the company, being its most ambitious project to date. The extent of that has now been revealed by MobyGames, which reveals it had a whopping 2,000 people working on the project.

The Last Of Us Part 2 Workforce Was Huge

According to info compiled by the site, a total of 2,169 developers working on the post-apocalyptic title, which included 13 companies that were outsourced. By comparison, something like Red Dead Redemption 2 had a massive 8,000 credited developers, although this doesn’t mean they were present throughout the entire production cycle.

The Last of Us Part 2 came out on June 19 for the PS4, and you can read our full verdict on the game here.

Naughty Dog’s latest title reportedly sold a massive 2.8 million copies digitally in June, and topped the US charts for the same month. The studio is already gearing up for what we assume is its debut PS5 project, according to a job listing.
