Crafting and upgrading weapons in The Last of Us Part 2 has been detailed by Naughty Dog and we get to see exactly how it works in today’s State of Play.
You will be able to unlock weapon and player upgrades in training manuals throughout the game. Crafting materials can also be found in the world. These training manuals will fit a variety of playstyles. Weapons can once again be upgraded on the fly, and each upgrade is visually shown on the gun. New crafting gadgets include pistol suppressors, proximity mines, and ammo types, like explosive arrows.

The Last Of Us Part 2’s State of Play was unveiled by Sony earlier this week and is likely to be the last PS4-focused State of Play from Sony. The PS5 reveal event is looking likely to take place next week. So, we should expect Sony to focus entirely on their next-generation console from the here on out when it comes to new reveals.
Naughty Dog will be producing a podcast going in-depth on both The Last Of Us games in the future. The game has also reportedly been banned in the Middle East, likely due to Ellie’s sexual orientation and possibly even the amount of violence in the game.
The Last of Us Part 2 releases for PS4 on June 19.
