Naughty Dog is keeping mum on a possible The Last of Us Part 3, but Troy Baker, who plays Joel in the previous two games, is up for returning for another entry in the series.
Speaking with ComicBook, Baker made it clear that he has no idea if The Last of Us Part 3 will actually happen, but is definitely open to returning — although those who played Part 2 will probably be wondering exactly how Joel will factor into the equation.
People always ask, ‘Is there going to be a Last of Us Part 3?’” I have no idea. No idea. I didn’t know there was going to be a Part 2. But if Neil [Druckmann] has a story that he wants to tell, and he wants me to be a part of it in any way. I am there, seven days a week and twice on Sunday. I absolutely would follow him.
Neil Druckmann had previously said that he believes there’s ‘more story to tell‘ in regards to The Last of Us, although at the same time admitted Naughty Dog would leave the series behind if it felt it wasn’t worth revisiting.
Despite the above, it has been rumored that Naughty Dog is actually working on The Last of Us Part 3 as its next major project outside of the multiplayer spin-off.
