Naughty Dog has offered yet another comparison video between The Last of Us: Part I and The Last of Us Remastered, this time showcasing the improvements made to the Boston Docks setting in the PS5 remake.
As you can see below, the water effects have been dramatically increased for modern hardware, and there’s far more attention to detail gone into the structures off in the distance. The sun glare on the ocean looks great, too.
The second location in the video reveals even more attention to detail, again for the water effects, with the scene looking much more pleasing on the eyes. There’s also a couple of changes regarding the boats in the harbour, with one vessel no longer attached to the crane.

The Last of Us Part I is scheduled for release on September 2, 2022 for PS5, and will follow on PC at a later date.
Naughty Dog has drastically overhauled the game’s visuals and accessibility options for the PS5 edition of the post-apocalyptic horror title, while the story and performances remain identical to what we’ve come to know and love on PS3 and PS4.
