Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has unleashed the official launch trailer for The Walking Dead: Michonne – A Telltale Miniseries, which kicks off this week with the release of Episode One: In Too Deep.
Based on the popular comic book series by Robert Kirkman, The Walking Dead: Michonne focuses on the zombie-slaying, blade-wielding heroine Michonne, who has become a favorite among readers and fans of the TV series alike.
The three-part video game series features the award-winning Samira Wiley in the lead role, with the action taking place after Michonne departs Rick Grimes’ crew of survivors and fends for herself in the wilderness.
In Too Deep finds Michonne teaming up with Pete and his crew of survivors on board a ship known as The Companion. When a desperate signal for help draws them to a scene of horrific massacre, Michonne and the crew are lead further to the floating survivors’ colony of Monroe, which may just be harboring the person responsible for the carnage.
The Walking Dead series by Telltale Games has already sold over 50 million copies worldwide since its inception in 2012. The series is comprised of The Walking Dead: Season One, The Walking Dead: Season Two and The Walking Dead: 400 Days, plus the new Michonne miniseries.
A third season of the video game franchise is currently in development, though nothing has been revealed as of yet in regards to what we can expect in terms of characters and setting.
